Zena Moore takes up new position as Associate Professor, RCSI

1 June 2013 saw Dr Zena Moore take up the role as Associate Professor, Director of Nursing Research at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). A graduate of the University of Wales, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery, RCSI Zena has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery in the college since 2002.   

Zena is actively involved in research in wound management and has undertaken a number of systematic reviews with the Cochrane wounds group and the Cochrane renal group. She has has over 100 publications, including articles, book chapters, guidelines and international consensus documents, and has researched in many aspects of wound management which have been presented at local, national and international meetings.

Zena was president of the European Wound Management Association 2009-2011, where today she remains an active member of the association. Zena is a board member of the World Alliance for Wound and Lymphoedema Care, Chair of the repositioning group of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel guideline update project, an honorary Tutor for the MSc in Wound healing & Tissue Repair, University of Wales and a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Hogskolen i Buskerud, Drammen, Norway. Zena is also a member of the Department Health (Ireland) Nursing and Midwifery Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Group and the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, HSE, Health Care Acquired Infection Advisory Group.
